To support graduate student participation in the Canadian Military (through regular or reserve service) the University of Guelph will consider accommodation requests from enlisted graduate students that will allow them to meet both their academic and military service obligations, including Remembrance Day activities. A request to accommodate course selection for that semester should be sent to the Registrar from the student’s University email. That request must include the date of their Course Selection Window as well as an official notice of dates for training/deployment on Military letterhead. A Leave of Absence request form with the appropriate signatures should be submitted to the Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies. That request will include an official confirmation of the military commitment from their Commanding Officer on official letterhead. Finally, academic accommodations will be considered under the Academic Consideration policy for compassionate grounds.
