This course introduces students to a range of professional skills needed in the agricultural sector. An individual development plan that emphasizes career exploration, preparation, and goal setting is created by each student to guide activities in line with the student's ultimate career goals. This includes identifying and completing relevant certifications or trainings that may enhance one's job prospects.

IAEF*6020 Internship Preparation Fall and Winter Reg Required [0.00]
This course is designed to ensure students who intend to take IAEF 6030 will be prepared for their internship and for subsequent job searches post graduation. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the competitive process of securing an internship. Workshops will support students in the job search process, writing targeted resumes and cover letters, interview skills and understanding the workplace context in terms of worker's rights and responsibilities and work permit requirements for international students.

IAEF*6030 Internship in Agriculture, Environment, Food and Communities Summer Only [1.00]
Students apply concepts learned to date in a real-world context through a work integrated learning experience. Students work full-time with partners in government, industry or non-for profit organizations that focus on agriculture, environment and/or food over a 12-16-week period, focusing on a major project of significance to the host organization.
